About us
Specialists in providing cost effective “Financial Education in the Workplace”

cfed deliver a range of highly effective educational sessions based around personal finance. The programmes are designed to give individuals the skills and knowledge needed to help them deal with the ever changing financial challenges we face in today’s world. Our team of presenters are unique in that not only are they experienced coaches, but they were all qualified advisers too. In a world where the cost of professional financial advice is beyond the pockets of so many, we believe that by coaching people how pensions, mortgages, bank accounts and other financial products actually work gives them the confidence to make their own choices rather than being “sold to”.

It’s because employers pay for our time, we are able to focus 100% on educating delegates not selling them products.

By exposing our experts to groups of people together, employers can guarantee cost effective delivery.

The program is designed in terms of the employees interest and focuses on providing them with the skills and knowledge to help them make their own financial decisions. There is absolutely NO SELLING of products like pensions or investments. THAT’S A GUARANTEE!

Professional Team
Janet Sobanska
Janet Sobanska
Director of Operations

Janet’s chosen specialist area is Personal Finance but her real talent comes in understanding how products like mortgages and Credit cards work and explaining them in a manner that people really get.

Janet’s career has come full circle being back involved in Finance and Education. Her business life began with Lloyds Bank International, after which she spent several years working with worldwide companies, which involved taking the business to new markets, mainly across Eastern Europe and Africa, specialising in leadership, coaching and development and training. These skills now enable Janet to communicate effectively the complex world of finance.

Chris Roper
Chris Roper
Director of Coaching

Chris became interested in Financial services after a successful career in management and training outside of the industry with companies like Wickes and Acorn before qualifying as an IFA.

He developed a passion for coaching and mentoring both individuals and teams within those organisations and externally as a vocational coach with world leading Dale Carnegie organisation. The skills acquired now serve well to keep cfed delegates challenged and engaged.

When not working Chris enjoys travelling to new places or wandering around the Yorkshire Dales with Mrs R and the dogs.

Simon-Blakeley
Simon Blakeley
Wills & Legal Associate Specialist

Simon qualified as a solicitor in 1985. For the last 20 years he has run his own practice from his office in Thornton, near Bradford West Yorkshire. The arrival of Teams, Zoom and other video calling platforms has meant Simon can provide extensive support to users throughout the UK.

Simon brings his legal expertise and knowledge to the cfed camp on many occasions and particularly with the popular “How to Write a Will” session. Every session seems to bring new unusual questions to challenge Simon. Thanks to his extensive experience he not only provides the answer but he’s often able to expand and bring the session to life with real-life examples and anecdotes. This is always appreciated and enjoyed by all delegates.

When he’s not at work he enjoys family time with his two daughters as well as suffering the Pennine weather following Bradford Bulls Rugby team. Simon is also heavily involved in the local community helping out with projects such as Greenway and the new Bradford Live venue.

Julie Doyle, CEO
Longhurst Group

When my head of H.R. tried to convince me it was a good idea and I was worried about having a bunch of financial advisors on site – but fortunately she talked me into it.

You did such an amazing job of clearing the fog around so many day to day financial matters (yes, even pensions!) that I would unreservedly recommend you to any organisation or individual.

I was sceptical at first but now I’m just so impressed that my employer has provided this great service.

We have had more than enough training going on here but this was definitely worth the time.

cfed take the mystery out of finance.

I feel I’ve understood more about money in one session than all the meetings I’ve had with the bank put together.

These guys explained pensions in a way that I actually understood. Let me tell you that’s a first.

10/10 Brilliant I just wish I’d known some of this stuff sooner.

I’m so impressed that my employer has arranged these sessions for us.

If you’re considering whether or not to attend, stop thinking about it and just go!. You will learn so much.

These people talk financial sense and have integrity. I would happily recommend them.
